Please send me a tall, good looking man who will take me camping...

There is nothing like being in the trees. Especially after a week looking after your confused elderly father in the hospital.

Is it reasonable to appeal to the universe for a kind loving partner? Tall and handsome may be too much to ask, but I really would like someone who knows how to find those lovely spots to set a tent, to hike, to dream.

A friend said a passage in a book she is reading reminded her of me ... “The search for love continues even in the face of great odds..” She thought it inspiring, but having to acknowledge how great the odds truly are is a reality I don't like contemplating.

Why should the odds be so great? I never had trouble finding men when I was younger, and - if I do say so myself - I am still a great catch.

Contemplation leads me to this equation (please let me know what I've missed):

selectiveness of women of a certain age

+ fewer men alive / in circulation in this demographic

+ men's fears of not being enough (financially, emotionally, mentally, physically)

+ eligible men's preference for younger women

+ each individual's karma in the realm of relationships

+ Covid, masks, internet dating, and all things that inhibit natural encounters

= GREAT ODDS

I could make a list at least a page long of desired attributes in a partner, but in the end it really boils down to the je ne sais quoi - do we connect on a level that transcends all illusions or do we not?

In the face of all odds, I hereby make the following request ... Dear Universe, will you grace my life with a delightful man to explore nature's beauty, share laughter and tears, and never doubt we are made for each other?
